Emily, 17, began her dance training at the Scripps Performing Arts Academy in a Tap class. She began ballet a year later to improve her tap skills and eventually fell in love with the artform. She has attended the Intermediate and Pre-Professional Summer Intensive programs at The Scripps Performing Arts Academy for the past three years, working with Deborah Kenner (Pacific Northwest Ballet), Jerry Kokich (Joffrey Ballet), Gary Sevani, Amanda Kofsky (PACT Ballet Company), Beverly Bagg (Alberta Ballet), Peggy Dolkas (Ballet West), Robyn Segel Shifren (Royal Ballet) and Texas Ballet Theatre. This past year Emily was accepted into summer programs with Texas Ballet Theatre and University of North Carolina's School of the Arts and attended The Ailey School Summer Program in New York.
