Unveiling Artistry Through Performance: A Journey of Growth and Excellence

At the heart of our artistic endeavor lies the transformative power of performance. More than just a showcase, our carefully curated productions serve as a profound catalyst for fostering invaluable qualities within our participants. Aspiring dancers and artists embark on a journey of teamwork, commitment, and responsibility, intertwining seamlessly with the enhancement of technical prowess and artistic brilliance.

A Pinnacle of Pre-Professional Development: Our approach recognizes the pivotal role that performing for an audience plays in pre-professional training. Beyond the confines of the classroom, our students find themselves on a stage that nurtures focus, determination, and an electrifying outlet for the application of acquired knowledge. This tangible connection between learning and doing empowers our younger talents, instilling confidence and a deeper understanding of their craft.

A Symphony of Creativity and Expression: Rather than conforming to the conventional, we proudly deviate by presenting two annual dance productions that transcend the boundaries of competitions and recitals. These productions are masterfully choreographed and thoughtfully costumed, emphasizing not only age-appropriate elegance but also the uniqueness of every performance. Our dedication to the art form shines through in our two full-scale musical theatre productions, where the magic of storytelling comes alive through the harmonious marriage of movement and music.

Why Choose Our Stage?

  • Unveiling Potential: Witness the evolution of commitment, collaboration, and competence as our performers shine in the spotlight, showcasing their journey of growth.
  • Transcending Boundaries: Our productions go beyond the conventional, providing a platform where artistic innovation meets a profound sense of responsibility.

  • Crafted Excellence: Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing world of dance and musical theatre, where every costume, choreography, and note is meticulously crafted to elevate the performance to new heights.

Join us on a captivating odyssey where passion meets purpose, and creativity knows no bounds. Experience the magic of performance that resonates far beyond the stage, shaping individuals into confident, responsible, and skilled artists ready to conquer the world.

Scripps Ballet Theatre

Scripps Ballet Theatre (SBT) is a youth ballet company in residence here at the Academy. It is the mission of SBT to provide pre-professional ballet dancers with the opportunity to perform original classical and contemporary works while educating young audiences throughout their local community about the strength, tenacity and relevance of ballet in the 21st century.

The Scripps Ballet Theatre is dedicated to developing the full artistic potential of every dancer. It is our goal to provide students with professional level performance opportunities and our community with wonderful ballet performed by local youth.

Not only are SBT members experiencing professional expectations on a pre-professional level, but they are also developing skills to enhance their future and lives, whether it be with a professional dance company or not. Students will take with them the self-esteem needed to go on an audition or interview, they will learn self-discipline, be able to take charge of managing their time and schedules, they will be able to cope with situations through great focus and concentration, and they will become great team players through their experience in dancing the corps de ballet. Lastly, it will develop a lifelong appreciation, respect, and love for the arts. Company members do not have to be SPAA students to participate.
