A Supportive, Encouraging Ballet Education

Our Boys/Young Men’s Program will give male dancers an opportunity to meet other boys while enjoying the energy and camaraderie that develops between Male dance students! Our Young Men participate in the leveled curriculum along with All-Boys classes held weekly or schedule throughout the year, focusing on the specific technical and physical strength needs required for male dancers to excel. Classes encourage creativity, teamwork and athleticism in every student regardless of his aspirations and those are skills that will be an asset in any activity they pursue.

Classes

Boys Dance

A dance class designed specifically for young boys aged 7+. This all boys class will incorporate creative dance concepts while developing agility, coordination, strength, balance, flexibility, rhythm and strength. This class will allow boys to understand and appreciate movement while strengthening skills that will benefit them in all forms of dance and sports.

Boys Ballet 1 & 2

As part of their complete training, classes will continue building the strength and technique required of the male dancer. Classes allow young males to develop technique with an emphasis on requirements for the male dancer while exploring their creative and physical dimensions in an all-boys environment. Boys Ballet 1 or 2 can take the place of one of their required weekly ballet technique classes during the school year, and we offer a special all boys intensive summer program.

Pas de Deux, for Boys Ballet students is by invitation only and Intermediate to Advanced Adult Male dancers at no additional cost.

Dancewear is only appropriate attire for inside the dance class, therefor all students must wear street clothing or coverups over their leotards and tights. Coverups will also help keep their tights and dance wear clean and hole free. Being outside in a leotard and tights, especially after a class when your body is warm can lead to illness or cause injury to muscles. All students are responsible to present themselves in a professional manner at all times, including to and from class.

Boys:

Ballet: White or Black fitted T-shirt tucked in, black tights, and black ballet shoes or white socks and white ballet shoes. Gentlemen in Ballet IV and higher may wear choice solid color tights and shirts, unitards or shorts to class and rehearsals on Saturdays.

Ballet Shoes are not to be worn outside of the dance studio. Dirt and rocks from outside are damaging to the special flooring required for dance.

Jazz and Modern: Fitted T-shirt, jazz pants, shorts, tights or leggings.
