Build Strength and Technique With Purpose
At Scripps Performing Arts Academy, our Summer Intensive Workshop provides serious dance students ages 8–19 with the foundation they need to grow as artists and technicians.
This program emphasizes rigorous, individualized training to refine ballet technique and develop physical strength. With a supportive environment and professional faculty, passionate students thrive as they take significant steps toward their artistic goals. Every detail of this program is designed to help dancers achieve their full potential—both on stage and in their personal development.

Our diverse faculty, including resident instructors and guest artists from prestigious companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet and American Ballet Theater, bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to every class.

With a teacher-student ratio averaging 1:16 or fewer, dancers receive personalized feedback and targeted corrections in every session. Our thoughtfully curated curriculum extends beyond traditional ballet to provide dancers with a well-rounded training experience. Daily classes include ballet technique and pointe or men’s classes, while supplemental sessions introduce exciting disciplines like Modern, Jazz, Classical Character Dance and Acting for Dancers.
Additionally, cross-training and nutrition seminars empower students with tools to care for their bodies and prevent injury. By exposing dancers to a variety of styles and disciplines, our program helps them build versatility and confidence, preparing them for the demands of a professional career or collegiate program.
Expand Your Skills With Contemporary Training
Our Contemporary Technique & Styles Intensive immerses dancers in the dynamic world of Modern and Contemporary movement. Expand your movement vocabulary with daily training in Modern, Jazz, and Contemporary styles. Develop versatility through Progressing Contemporary Technique, Release, Graham, Horton, Dunham, Dance Improvisation, and Contact Improv—key elements for success in professional dance careers and collegiate programs.
Students also delve into Dance Improvisation and Contact Improv, cultivating the confidence and versatility needed for success in Contemporary choreography, collegiate dance programs, or professional ballet careers. This program is ideal for dancers seeking to refine their artistry, broaden their skill set, and discover their unique voice in the world of Modern dance.

No Audition is necessary. Intermediate to Advanced students may register without an audition!
1:00-7:00 pm, July 27-31, 2026
Join us at our San Diego campus to showcase your talent in person. This hands-on audition process allows you to meet our faculty, experience our facilities, and receive valuable feedback.
- *Accepting Audition Applications beginning January 15, 2026, while space is available
- *$40 Application fee is due at the time of the in-person audition.
- *Email a headshot and a first arabesque photo (4” x 6” or smaller) prior to your audition appointment.
- *Audition results will be provided within two weeks of audition.
For students unable to attend an in-person audition, we offer a convenient online Video application.
*Video Submission: Record and submit your audition along with a $50 application fee (money order or check) to complete your application process.
- *Accepting Audition Applications January 1-June 30, 2026, while space is available
- *50 Application fee must be included with your audition video.
- *Audition results will be provided within two weeks of receipt of application.
